In Pictures and Words...

Devoted to the thoughts and ideas strewn about in my imagination, this is a collection of pictures and words devoted to style, design and all the things I enjoy.

Pitti Uomo Day 2 - it’s really hard to not blog, re-blog, like, etc. a Nick Wooster photo. I’ve only posted one of his photos because, personally I don’t want to seem obsessed.
Truth be told, he’s the man and really, one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Plus, I love the fact that he’s rocking some killer Japanese brands… if I had to guess that’s a Haversack cardigan, Neighborhood scarf and Anachronorm pants - topped off with Dita x Visvim shades. I might be wrong, but either way it’s sharp.

I like to eat breakfast alone, and almost never before noon; anybody with a terminally jangled lifestyle needs at least one psychic anchor every twenty-four hours, and mine is breakfast. In Hong Kong, Dallas, or at home—and regardless of whether or not I have been to bed—breakfast is a personal ritual that can only be properly observed alone, and in a spirit of genuine excess. The food factor should always be massive: four Bloody Marys, two grapefruits, a pot of coffee, Rangoon crêpes, a half-pound of either sausage, bacon, or corned-beef hash with diced chilies, a Spanish omelette or eggs Benedict, a quart of milk, a chopped lemon for random seasoning, and something like a slice of key lime pie, two margaritas and six lines of the best cocaine for dessert…Right, and there should also be two or three newspapers, all mail and messages, a telephone, a notebook for planning the next twenty-four hours, and at least one source of good music…all of which should be dealt with outside, in the warmth of a hot sun, and preferably stone naked.

NEIGHBORHOOD.

Over the past three years I’ve gotten hooked on Japanese street wear, specifically brands that hold some type of Americana aesthetic but stay unique and authentic to their identity. Visvim, for example, is a brand I have grown to love and appreciate. NBHD started out doing pretty gnarly biker stuff. Recently, they started integrating some forward thinking pieces, which still hold that badass style.

I have a pair of their jeans, and I’m anxious to get ahold of their outerwear - specifically, this.

SENSE Magazine Editorial on visvim.

I love the use of layers and textures - some may think it’s over styled, but I personally love the aesthetic. The use of fabrics, technology and color is tremendous. Over the past few months I’ve been able to acquire two pairs of footwear along with a jacket. The quality is probably the best I’ve ever seen, and I love what Hiroki Nakamura is all about

Now I just need to win the lottery, rob a bank or get rich quick to fuel this obsession.
